About O.Shane Balloun

O.Shane Balloun is experienced in both complex transactional work and civil litigation.

His transactional work includes corporate formation for—and/or reconstitution of—businesses and pooled investment funds of various sizes and entity types in multiple jurisdictions, taking into account tax considerations and regulatory frameworks unique to his clients businesses; drafting and review of commercial contracts, often in the context of multi-instrument deals; composition and review of software and other copyright licenses; and the drafting and review of admiralty and maritime agreements of all types.

O.Shane engages in litigation both as plaintiff's counsel and defense counsel, typically with respect to commercial transactions. He has direct experience in admiralty and maritime, and is experienced in federal and state court.

Prior to law school, he worked in high tech in Silicon Valley, enjoying a stint in the hard disk drive industry before beginning work at Google. While at Google, O.Shane had the pleasure of serving on teams that launched Gmail and Google Product Search (formerly Froogle).

O.Shane loves his family, enjoys strategy games and photography, and scuba dives as a certified Divemaster.
